I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, working with adolescents and adults navigating life’s challenges, transitions, and stress. Whether you’re coping with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, or the pressures of high expectations, you don’t have to face these experiences alone.
I work with clients across several areas:
Emotional & mental health
Stress & life balance
Health-related challenges
Together, we explore what feels stuck, identify patterns, and focus on practical, meaningful changes. Therapy is collaborative and action-oriented, helping you make sustainable progress and reconnect with hope.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Eckerd College and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University in 2014. With over 11 years of experience in crisis centers, community mental health agencies, child welfare, and managed care, I bring a grounded, practical, and compassionate approach to therapy.
I offer virtual therapy through a secure platform, making care accessible throughout Florida.

Therapeutic Approach
Therapy works best when it meets you where you are. I take a collaborative, person-centered approach, using strategies that are practical, supportive, and focused on helping you move forward. My work draws from several evidence-based approaches, including:
In our sessions, therapy is both a space to reflect and a process to take action. We identify what feels stuck, explore patterns that may be holding you back, and focus on changes that fit your life and values. The goal is meaningful, sustainable progress—not quick fixes.

To schedule an initial consultation to learn more about my services, you can leave me a voicemail at 813-521-8084. I try to return calls within 48 hours or the next business day for calls left over the weekend. You can also contact me by email at Amandalroutten@gmail.com
*Please do not include sensitive clinical information, and never use email in an emergency.
Following our consultation call, we can then discuss scheduling if you would like to move forward with services.
I recommend that clients start therapy with weekly sessions, but we can tailor the frequency to what works best for you. Therapy can be either short-term or longer-term, depending on your needs. The time it takes to see results from counseling varies; some clients might notice improvements after just a few sessions, while others may benefit from a longer duration of therapy.
Insurance & Fees
I am in-network with the following insurance providers
:
Please note: Insurance coverage can vary depending on your specific plan. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your mental health benefits—this can include information about coverage, copays, deductibles, and any session limits. Not all plans within a provider network may be accepted.
If I’m not in-network with your plan, I’m considered an out-of-network provider. In this case, I can provide a Superbill (a detailed receipt) upon request, which you may be able to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Please speak with your insurance provider regarding options for out of network payment reimbursement.
Please note: Insurance coverage varies by plan. Contact your insurance provider directly to verify your benefits. Not all plans may be accepted.
Self-pay Fees:
During our consultation, we can talk about what session length might feel most supportive for you right now—whether that's 45 or 60 minutes
Sliding Scale
I do offer a sliding scale for clients experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to ask about availability during your consultation. I believe therapy should be as accessible as possible.
I request a minimum of 48 hours prior to cancelling an appointment. It is often difficult to fill an appointment spot at the last minute. Failure to cancel a minimum of 48 hours in advance will result in a charge to you for the usual hourly fee.
